The Employer-led Workplace Literacy Fund is now fully allocated. However, we still have some Workplace Literacy funding available for businesses. The strand we get is the TEO-led funding which is a great way for businesses to take some important first steps in addressing literacy and numeracy needs in their workplaces. We’re happy to work on small projects with smaller employers or to run pilot programmes with larger employers who are feeling their way into this area. The fund is a great way for businesses to get started in this area at low risk and at reasonably low cost. When it works well, this education can contribute to improved productivity at work and it is truly empowering for individuals and their families and communities. Yes there are challenges, but with good planning, it’s not as hard as you think and we’re here to help. Happy to chat as always.
Here’s a link to Skills Highway website, a great resource for employers wanting to find out more about this area. Recent news items include information for HR managers about workplace literacy and a report from industry groups in Australia. Skills Highway
Ps. Can anyone recognise the bridge in the photo and the mural from which it was taken?
