Workplace Literacy Fund for Employers
A funding window has opened for the Workplace Literacy Fund for Employers. This is for businesses who want to train their own staff in language, literacy and numeracy and it has historically been undersubscribed.
It’s a great opportunity for businesses looking to raise productivity, profitability and customer satisfaction by investing in their staff. Businesses may have staff whose literacy and numeracy skills are holding them back. Staff may have challenges understanding written and/or verbal instructions, completing forms, reporting verbally and/or in writing, understanding and/or completing basic calculations. Or they may have difficulties with English.
Previously the fund was set up for businesses who wanted to upskill 50 or more people but this has been lowered to 20. Hopefully this will increase interest in the fund and make the whole process less daunting. And it shouldn’t be daunting. This is about seeing a need in the workplace and accessing available resources to do something about it.
We are happy to work with businesses to assist with accessing this fund and can also offer help delivering and evaluating the resulting programmes … but get in quick. The funding window closes on the 19th November at 5pm!
